Pain Module I: The Problem of Pain

Course Description

This program is designed to promote and improve healthcare by providing nursing continuing education that allows nurses to:

  • Maintain clinical competency with information that reviews essential knowledge in the field of pain management
  • Advance their clinical competency with information that addresses new developments in the field of pain management

Upon completion of this course the participant will be able to:

  • State the definition of pain
  • Discuss barriers to care and misconceptions surrounding pain management
  • List three physiological complications to unrelieved and/or undertreated pain
  • Describe clinical assessment of pain
