Electronic product data helps to keep patients safe and provide efficient healthcare. ICU Medical uses Unique Device Identification (UDI) to make product information easy to find, scan, and access electronically. Our systems employ global standards and data networks that make it simple to trace a product from the manufacturing facility to its use on a patient.

Unique Device Identification (UDI) is a straightforward system that can open the door to greater patient safety and supply chain efficiency.

The Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) allows us to deliver product data to your system in a standardized, easy-to-use format.

ICU Medical added UDI information to our packaging in both text and barcode format for ease of use throughout the supply chain.

ICU Medical currently publishes our product data to the FDA’s Global UDI Database (GUDID) and to the GS1 Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN).

These standards define the available electronic product information and its format.
