Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) and Perioperative Medicine
Course Description
Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) and perioperative medicine initiatives are changing the way patients are prepared for, cared for and recover from surgery. Multidisciplinary changes are helping reduce patient length of stay, lower complications rates, decrease opioid consumption and lower hospital costs while preventing readmissions, increasing patient experience and satisfaction, and creating hospital efficiencies.
Learn more about ERAS from Professor Monty Mythen, Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at University College London. Professor Mythen was formerly the National Clinical Lead at the U.K. Department of Health for the Enhanced Recovery Partnership in the English NHS from 2009 to 2013 and lectures extensively on this topic.
