The Respiratory Group has a breadth of products to help improve the outcome of the respiratory patient both in the hospital and alternative care environments. The scope of products include tracheostomy tubes and accessories, arterial blood gas systems, bronchial hygiene, lung expansion products, active humidification and nebulization systems, open and closed suction catheters, manual resuscitators, passive humidification and filtration products; and oxygen/aerosol masks, cannulas, tubing, and small volume nebulizers with unit dose solutions.

The humidification and nebulization products address both passive humidification and filtration needs through the use of Portex® and Thermovent® HME’s and Filters. Pre-filled humidifiers and nebulizers offer aseptic systems for the active humidification of patients via our Ster-O2™, Universal Bottle, Thera-Mist® systems and the new AquinOx™ high flow, high oxygen concentration humidification system. Together, this range of active and passive humidification products meets the needs of virtually all ventilated and oxygen therapy patients.

The acapella® and acapella® choice products are vibratory positive expiratory pressure systems that help clear the lower respiratory tract; while the Coach2® and CliniFLO® lung exerciser products help the prevention of atelectasis.

The Pro-Vent® Plus, Pulsator® Plus, and Portex® Line Draw Plus arterial blood sampling kits offer needlestick safety and specially formulated heparin to meet the needs of arterial blood sampling.

Smiths Medical also has a range of oxygen/aerosol therapy masks, cannulas, and oxygen tubing.
