The new Portex UniPerc™ range was developed in response to the clinical feedback that our current offering of tracheostomy tubes are not always appropriate for patients with unusual anatomy or large necks. In addition, taking into consideration current obesity statistics, we have identified a need for a longer length tube. Obesity is now at epidemic proportions on a global scale.

Currently, more than one billion adults are overweight and at least 300 million of are clinically obese (Ref WHO)This increasing trend of obesity creates new challenges for clinical staff in dealing with these patients, the new UniPerc TM  PDT kit and tubes have been developed to address these emerging needs.

Indications for use
The Portex UniPerc™ Percutaneous Dilation Tracheostomy kit allows the controlled elective subcricoid percutaneous insertion of an adjustable flange tracheostomy tube for airway management using the seldinger guide wire technique in patients with large neck anatomy (Up to a maximum of 50 cm of pre-tracheal soft tissue anterior to the trachea) where a standard length flange tracheostomy tubes are too short. Tracheostomy tube maximum period of use per tube is 29 days.

 - Cleaning swabs for inner cannula.
