- Recreation options: In the cities of lakes and parks, residents of the Twin Cities enjoy 1,000 local lakes, 135 golf courses, groomed parks and hiking trails, throughout the four seasons of the year. The largest lakes in the area are popular for boating, fishing, swimming, sailing, canoeing, water skiing, and ice fishing in the winter months. Minnesota has more boaters per capita than anywhere else in the U.S.
Educational institutions:
The Twin Cities has a reputation for the high quality of its workforce. They are educated (33.7% of Minnesotans have a bachelor’s degree or higher), they are above average in technical literacy, and most are employed. Through the Enrollment Options Program, students K-12 can apply to any public school district in the state. The state also offers a wide selection of private, magnet, and charter schools. Advanced high school students may enroll in college courses tuition-free.
