|  | Portexsil - Silicone Rubber Tubing[ Features ] [ Ordering Info ] Portex Tubing is manufactured from Silicone Rubber, which displays a number of excellent properties not found in most plastics. This means it can be used in some critical applications where PVC would not be suitable.
Benefits of Portexsil Excellent chemical resistance characteristics and very wide working temperature range make Portexsil suitable for many applications where metal might otherwise have to be used
Highly elastic and flexible, Portexsil is simply curved around corners and obstructions, requiring a minimum of connections
Non-Toxic, non-contaminating synthetic material in common use, silicone rubber is characterised by its surface properties and biological inertness, which minimises the possibility of damage to blood cells and tissues
Smooth walled for ease of cleaning
Unlike most plastic materials, silicone rubber is not deformed by heat and the high temperature resistance permits sterilisation by dry heat
Recommended for use in peristaltic pumps
