Smiths Medical PM, Inc. is a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of the BCI® brand of patient monitoring equipment and a distributor of the Pneupac® brand of MRI compatible transport ventilators.
Smiths Medical Patient Monitoring and Ventilation is passionately dedicated to enhancing patient care by providing reliable, intuitive, clinically focused, portable vital signs monitors and transport ventilators for use in a variety of inpatient and outpatient environments, including conscious sedations, respiratory therapy, sleep, emergency medical services, and patient transport, thereby providing clinicians with the instantaneous flexibility they require to safeguard life.
Smiths Medical PM, Inc.'s products are used to monitor respiration, oxygen saturation, expired carbon dioxide, temperature, blood pressure (invasive and non-invasive), inspired O2 and ECG. These monitoring systems provide real time analysis for immediate, continuous monitoring of a patient's condition.
In 1999, Smiths Industries plc acquired BCI International to enhance its offering in patient monitoring systems within the Smiths Medical Group. Smiths Medical PM, Inc.'s monitoring systems and transport ventilators are marketed in the United States through a staff of direct Territory Business Managers, and an established network of distributors. International sales are promoted through Smiths Medical international sales and marketing companies, as well as specialized medical distributors. BCI® brand technologies are also marketed to original equipment manufacturers as components, or as finished private labeled products.
Smiths Medical PM, Inc. is also the United States master distributor of Pneupac® MRI compatible ventilators that are manufactured in the United Kingdom. These products provide emergency support for patients in respiratory distress. The product line consists of emergency and transport ventilators, designed for patients ranging in age from neonates throught adults and used by medically trained personnel both inside and outside the hospital.
The Smiths Medical PM, Inc. Veterinary Division (formerly SurgiVet®), provides a full line of veterinary specific monitoring equipment, anesthesia machines, and accessories which can be used on a wide variety of animals. The SurgiVet® brand products are used to monitor oxygen saturation, end tidal CO2, non-invasive blood pressure, agents temperature, and EKG. The anesthesia machine product line offers a large selection of veterinary anesthesia systems for both small and large animals. With the recent acquisition of Global Veterinary Products, they now have a full line of veterinary specific critical care products. They are also the largest veterinary vaporizer service company in the United States providing knowledgeable technical service to the veterinary industry.
