ContiStim® Stimulating Catheter

ContiStim® Stimulating Catheter is the newest addition to Smiths Medical’s existing line of peripheral nerve block products.

Many clinicians utilize a stimulating catheter to achieve optimal placement of the catheter. Optimizing placement of nerve block catheters can lead to improved clinical outcomes, such as reductions in patients’ pain scores and opioid consumption. The ContiStim® allows for stimulation during placement as well as hours or days after the initial placement.

Product Features

• Unique, patented design includes an integrated stimulus wire
• Small diameter (21 gauge) catheter
• Atraumatic ball tip protects against tissue damage while distributing stimulus in a 360° pattern
• Tip design creates a 360° outflow pattern that is symmetrical about the stimulus point.
• 3 additional side ports provide soaker action
• Kink resistant catheter body with stiffness optimized for easy insertion.
• Catheter's depth marks are calibrated for regional block needle use
• Available in 2 needle configurations
• 19g thin wall B-block bevel
• 18g Tuohy
• Stingray™ Catheter Connector
• The easy twist closure’s tactile “click” provides positive indication of secure catheter connection
• Flat profile enhances patient comfort and freedom of movement
