The Carden Laryngoscopy Tube is used in place of an endotracheal tube when general anesthesia is being given for microlaryngeal surgery.
The Carden Laryngoscopy tube is positioned below the level of the larynx.
The tube is held in place by an inflatable low trauma silicone cuff. Ventilation of the patient is accomplished by intermittently jetting oxygen and nitrous oxide mixtures using a nitrous oxide blender through the jet tube.
The patient can passively breathe even though his lungs are not inflated.
The Carden Laryngoscopy Tube is NOT INTENDED FOR USE WITH LASERS.
